Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC), St. Augustine, FL - OCMC short-term Orthodox Mission Teams offer multiple ways for Orthodox Christians to share their time and talents with Orthodox communities around the world. That was evident as two teams, one to Romania and one to Guatemala, converged for orientation at Marywood Retreat Center, near St. Augustine, as they prepared to serve on the respective trips.

Both groups attended Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where His Eminence, Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta, conducted the Opening of the Doors Ceremony. The teams were then commissioned by His Eminence to “Go Forth to All Nations.”

Both teams will be doing youth work. In Romania, the team will lead two youth camps for teenagers outside of Cluj. In Guatemala, the team will assist in the every day activities of nurturing the orphaned children at the Hogar Rafael Ayau orphanage. They will also participate in a summer camp program and outings with the children.

If you would like to learn more about opportunities to serve on a Mission Team, please visit the OCMC website at www.ocmc.org/teams.  For any questions, please contact the Mission Center at teams@ocmc.org or 1-877-GO-FORTH (463-6784).
