01/06/07 Topic: Beauty in the Orthodox Christian Home
Guests: Matushka Jenny Shroedel
How do you define beauty, is it the characteristics which are on the
outside or those which are found within? Matushka Jenny Shroedel joins
Fr. Chris to discuss the characteristics of “Beauty” which we should all
display within our Orthodox Christian Home. Jenny emphasizes that our
homes should be in abundance of orderliness, peacefulness, and
Christ-Centered, like it is in the Church. Be sure to tune in and find
out what we each need to do to make our home beautiful in the eyes of
God.
01/13/07 Topic: The Gospel of John – Beholding the Glory
Guests: Fr. Lawrence Farley
Fr. Chris welcomes back prolific writer Fr. Lawrence Farley who has just
completed his new book, which is the latest in the Orthodox Bible Study
Companion Series, The Gospel of John – Beholding the Glory. Fr.
Lawrence will discuss the writing of the Gospel of St. John in how it
vigorously witnesses to Jesus, striving to persuade the hearts and minds
of the undecided that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the only
source of eternal life. Be sure to tune in and see how St. John set his
Gospel in a cosmic context, revealing Christ as the eternal Light of
God, the Truth and voice of the Father, the divine Glory shining in the
midst of men.
01/20/07 Topic: Portrait of a royal family in Icons
Guests: Laurence Manos
Icons within the Church represent the Beauty of the Life of Christ, the
Mother of God, and the Holy Saints, which are depicted thereon. CRTL
welcomes iconographer, Laurence Manos, as he will share with us the
glory, which he enjoys in writing these icons. He will further discuss
the beauty in portraying the royal family in icons.
01/27/07 Topic: Self Image Concerns of the day
Guests: Fr. Stanley Harakas
In today’s society, we all worry about how we look physically on the
outside, but is that what is important? Fr. Chris welcomes back
theologian, Fr. Stanley Harakas who will discuss the “Self Image
Concerns” of today and what we really should be concerned. It is not our
physical attributes and what material things that we have that is
important but rather what is in our heart spiritually. Be sure to tune
in for a spiritually uplifting program where we will all have a chance
to examine ourselves and see where we fit in today’s society; worrying
about how you look on the outside or what we have within ourselves
spiritually. It is what is within us that makes us all beautiful.
