IOCC APPOINTS NEW COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR
Baltimore (IOCC) - International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC)
announces the appointment of Amal E. Morcos as its Director of
Communications. Ms. Morcos will be responsible for implementing the
organization's communications plan, and act as its communications
liaison with other organizations.
Ms. Morcos is a 20 year communications professional who has worked at
some of America's most recognizable non profit and media organizations.
During her six-year tenure as Executive Director of the Atlanta Press
Club, where she launched the organization's Educational Endowment Fund,
it grew to become the second largest journalism association in the U.S.,
after the National Press Club. In 1993, Ms. Morcos was named Acting
Director of Communications at the United Negro College Fund, overseeing
that organization's production of print and electronic marketing
materials, and its nationally recognized, award-winning public service
advertising campaign. She began her career at Time Inc. Magazine Company
where she worked as a fact-checker for the journalists of Life, Money
and Fortune magazines.
IOCC was founded in 1992 as the official humanitarian aid agency of the
Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas
(SCOBA). Since then, it has implemented $225 million in relief and
development programs in 30 countries around the world.
