The OCF Effect
The OCF Effect
OCF affects thousands of students each year. How has OCF affected you?
For parents, it could be the piece of mind that the Church has not
forgotten their son or daughter, so their son or daughter will not
forget the Church. For students the effect could be the weekly bible
study or a ride to church, for others it is the place called home on
campus or just the opportunity to share a slice of pizza with other
Christian students. No matter what your answer is, OCF has probably
affected you or someone you know in a positive way this past school
year.
Ana, a junior at the University of Central Florida, shares how OCF became a vehicle of change in her life.
One of the factors of change that contributed to my spiritual
growing was the local chapter of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship at
the University of Central Florida. After becoming a member, OCF has been
an open, incandescent, and radiant window reflecting the true and
vibrant light of truth into a room full of mist and with no cornerstone
on which a genuine and pure spiritual foundation could be placed. Before
joining, I was an Orthodox who took Orthodoxy for granted, thinking
that going to church on Sundays was more than enough for an Orthodox to
secure a place in the eternity.
To my surprise, I learned that there was so much more to learn, so
many things to do that could help you get closer and closer to God. OCF
has been a blessing from God, a well abounding with thousands of other
blessings. I feel that, little by little, my room becomes brighter and
brighter, where the warmth of God enters my soul and settles peace into
my heart. OCF has been one of the most beautiful experiences I have had
that brought about an overwhelmingly powerful change in my life.
As the summer quickly approaches, OCF asks each of you to reflect on
how you relate to OCF, and if so moved by our ministry, please support
our efforts. It is only through people like YOU that we can continue
OCF's various programs, like the College Conference and Real Break,
support the 200+ OCFs and develop new resources to keep students
connected to the life-giving church.
For students...a donation of even $20 will enable us to guide one more start-up OCF and help your peers.
For parents...a donation of $50 will send The Basil Leaf newsletter to 30 more students.
For supporters...a donation of $100 will provide a day of Leadership Training for OCF students.
