Prof. Nicholai Petro joins Fr. Chris to discuss the recent election and enthronement of Patriarch Kirrill of Moscow. The Patriarch has for many years hosted a television program which reaches millions throughout the vast Russian area which now encompasses his ecclesiastical responsibility. There are many opportunities and challenges awaiting this Hierarch. From everyone at OCN we wish him Many Years! March 13
Guest: Fr. Patrick Reardon
Topic: Who is Jesus?
What is the great mystery of Jesus? Just who is He? Our emphasis
is not on the personal salvation of those who hear the message but on
the identity of Christ and what he has accomplished for us. Listen in on
Fr. Patrick Reardon's discussion of "Who is Jesus?" There will also be a
short segment from Paul Lundberg entitled "Memories of a Seminarian's
Lent."
March 20
Guest: Fr. Steven Ritter
Topic: That Your Joy May Be Full
Fr. Ritter will discuss his new book, "That Your Joy May Be Full,
Learning from the Authentic Orthodox Theology of the Spirit." Fr.
Steven Ritter has chosen St. Symeon's prayer as a vehicle for
contemplating the spiritual path of a Christian in our day and age. On
each page of this important book, he ponders various aspects of Orthodox
Christian spirituality in light of St. Symeon's profoundly rich
pre-Communion prayer. His book is a clarion call to the modern world to
seek divine knowledge and wisdom through the most profound kind of
theology -"the theology of prayer." A short segment from Fr. Ilya
Gotlinsky on Orthodox Tours will also be available this week. Fr.
Gotlinsky was born in Riga, Latvia to a Russian Family, Fr. Ilya
Gotlinsky (29) was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 1998 by His
Eminence Archbishop Peter of New York and New Jersey. He serves the
parishes of the Orthodox Church in America and is currently Rector of
the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Binghamton, NY. For
